band: white lies
photographer: gaga mucko [me] venue: london calling festival, paradiso, amsterdam postwork: curves, b&w, contrast, boarder Yet another edition of London Calling festival passed. Not the best one tho. This is White Lies. I read on the festival site that this band is much like Joy Division. It was not the first time that I read this about some band and well it never WAS a band quite like Joy Division. So this time I went there and expected another moaning band, very boring, very dark and very forced in being so. And then they came... Soon I got enchanted by them. I really did. The link between their music/live performance is very visible, but don't get me wrong: it's not a copy (as if it's possible!) and they do have own style and are very convincing. You should definitely check them out. I was shooting with 28-80 mm, because it was the only lens that I had in Amsterdam, not really ultimate gear for Paradiso. myspace.com/whitelies Enjoy! |
